the best salad

We were making this cauliflower salad throughout the winter and we're not ready to give it up yet. While it might not scream summer, it works year round and to be honest, not many salad recipes can top this for us - super satisfying cauliflower, moorish pistachios and the pop of pomegranate seeds. Ottolenghi does it again! We can't believe we didn't share it sooner.

Find the recipe here and give it a go. Enjoy!

Roo's book review

Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid.

This is the debut novel by Taylor Jenkins Reid, it’s such a wonderful read, I absolutely loved it, a perfect Summer Holiday book!

It’s written in an interview style which I thought may annoy me to begin with, but it’s so cleverly done and completely authentic that it just adds to the entertainment factor. It’s about a rock and roll band in the 70’s and their rise to stardom, the dynamics of the individual members of the band and their struggles with love, alcohol and drugs. I felt like I was transported to California in the 70’s and was totally immersed in this era and in all the amazing fashions and crazy looseness of this time. It’s straightforward and easy to read but it really gets under the skin of all the characters and I was totally gripped by them and couldn’t put it down, Daisy is beautiful, invincible but also really fragile and Billy is equally gorgeous but totally vulnerable and teetering on the edge.

Enjoy and let me know what you think, Roo x

Surf Wood for Good

We’ve teamed up with Dick Pearce and Friends on their Surf Wood for Good campaign, to offer free wooden bellyboard rentals as a positive alternative to cheap, environmentally-toxic polystyrene bodyboards that are so often discarded on our beaches.

If you fancy giving one a go, visit us on Porth Beach to rent a board or check out this map for all Surf Wood for Good sites across the South West.
